The Meaning of Life

Post by Outsider on 08.02.08 21:31

Anyone got any beliefs or theories?

I think the meaning of life is whatever you want it to be. You gove your own life meaning. Dedicate it to what you wish.

There is no meaning of life. It's a question which has been asked because of human curiosity.

I thought you might take a sceptic view like that.

Sceptic? What does it matter, it's only a word, an abstract idea of the human mind. Nothing matters in this world. I'm Marvin the Paranoid Android, I like him because he's quite realistic, like me.

Doesn't matter. Existence doesn't mean anything.

Anyway, I don't like being all philosophical. Very depressing. But it's the truth. But what is? Why does it matter?

there is no universal meaning to life
however people usually make their own
for some people it's finding out all they can about their interests, leaving their mark through art or music, or just finding someone to make happy (generally while being made happy by that person in return)

i forgot about those that don't make their own meaning...
some stumble around trying to find something to live for but having no beliefs in anything for themselves they can't. they end up living day to day hoping things work out by the end of it.

and others are impressionable and end up following whatever people tell them most often even if it's not something they can find a reason to believe in or it goes against their original morals

That is very true. I forgot to consider that.
