Any Recommendations..?
Can anyone recommend any books to me? I need something new to read. I like horrors, and fantasy/adventures.
Re: Any Recommendations..?
Terry Pratchett books are fantasy and they are kwl, you get a mixture of fantasy/adventure/comedy, they are really good, i can lend you some if you like, i have the first two he wrote as well as a couple of others
Re: Any Recommendations..?
they vary with the characters, but the main story line is that it is all about a world that is on the back of a turtle and the characters go through one mishap to another and still manage to stay alive, its funny while telling a good adventure story, but depends on what you like really
Re: Any Recommendations..?
maybe, im also reading some murder books right now, they are quite good but a bit slow for me to get into, they just dont seem to go quick enough for me, they go right into a murder through the eyes of the killer and then it cuts to the cops trying to solve the crime and then it gets part way through and then it somehow moves into another crime that is along the same lines of the first one but the two have nothing to do with one another so its kind of messed up a little, but its good if you can keep up with the plot of it lol
Re: Any Recommendations..?
Yeah... Sometimes you persevere with them, expecting them to get better... but sometimes they just dont. I think I hate that the most.
Re: Any Recommendations..?
yeah it is pretty bad when they let you down in the end
im currently reading the books you lent me and they are kwl, i like them, still on the first book but im working my way through it at a steady pace, its gonna take me longer than i thought to read them all lol

Re: Any Recommendations..?
yh but they sound too silly for me... I like soemthing more serious and realistic. Something darker, too.
Re: Any Recommendations..?
yeah but you have to have a break from all that at some point otherwise it gets boring (not that i find dark stuff boring) and you have to let up once in a while, you cant be serious all your life
Re: Any Recommendations..?
Lol, I'm not! You should know that! Besides, I hate stupid stuff in books. It annoys me.
Re: Any Recommendations..?
Pratchett is an awesome author
not read a book i wouldn't read till it fell apart yet
the ones you don't really hear much about by him are his collaborations with a pair of scientists called "The Science of Discworld". they're really good and as well as having a story through them, like you'd expect, they also discuss the current and old theories prevalnt in the sciences and how they relate to both teh Discworld and the Roundworld.
Highly reccommended

Re; Any Recommendations...?
Lol, for all those who have seen the Eragon film, I really suggest you read the books. They are way better. And they aren't slow to get into, Christopher Paolini, the author, captures your attention right at the beginning. it is really good.
